Mosman renovations - latest update

We're five weeks in and so much has happened in that time.

- The kitchen and old dining room windows were removed and partially bricked in

- Timber framework is in for the new bathroom, inset bath and the enclosures around and under the staircase

- Some additional structural works completed to the joists in the bathrooms and new floors laid down

- Bathrooms plumbed and rendered

- Structural beams and columns are almost fully installed - 3 steel and 2 timber beams plus 4 columns - don't think we could be any more structurally sound than that!

- Rear sliding doors and windows have been removed for the final beam installation

We've had a few minor incidents:

- The demolition of the fireplace saw some damage to the other side of the adjoining wall which the builders have now patched and rendered

- A light in the hallway was damaged (smashed to smithereens by a steel beam) and the boys were really apologetic about it - until I told them those old pendants were headed straight for the tip!

This week, we met with the joiner onsite to review the kitchen layout and custom cabinetry and to come up with some great solutions on how to make the most of every nook and cranny! Love this part - but now just waiting to see if they fit in the budget. Yikes!

Still super impressed with my team of builders. The last photo shows how they have set up their own shelving unit on one of the walls to keep their gear and tools neat and tidy. It's great to see such organisation and care. (but they're going to have to patch up that wall when they're done.)
